Nick went to Monroe to try to get this kid a mentor that he might listen to and you know what, Monroe is the perfect mentor for literally anyone. He has a lot of life experience and he made a lot of really hard decisions to make his life what he wanted it to be. Monroe is life, Monroe is love, Monroe is everything.
