Welp I ordered the Grimm collectible box set because it was on sale and I have zero impulse control apparently so that’ll be here later this month.

Fall is fast approaching…maybe it’s time for a rewatch? I’m still working on Grimm Stats and some other post series we never finished, not to mention two multi-chapter WIPs.

A rewatch could be just the thing to inspire me! And I’ll post a review of the box set as well, in case anyone wants to snag one super cheap on Cyber Monday this year.

Nick and Trubel talking at the same time. :3

How old was Trubel when her birth parents were killed?  Because, in a very conoluted fashion, Nick+Trubel being siblings may be possible

Well…Nick is 32, and Trubel is 21. Nick’s father died in March 1994, just after Trubel’s first birthday and a few months shy of Nick’s twelfth (going by the birthdays listed on the Grimm wiki). So in theory, Nick and Trubel could be related, but I only see two possibilities:

  1. One or the other of Nick’s parents was unfaithful, a child resulted from the affair, and the other partner kept Trubel after she was born.
  2. Nick’s mother got pregnant again and, knowing the danger her first child was already in, decided to conceal the pregnancy/fake a miscarriage and give the baby up for adoption.

The second one seems less likely if Kelly knew, as she probably did, that her daughter would almost certainly also be a Grimm; she would have been giving her up to parents who could not understand her or protect her once the Grimm powers came into play.

So I would guess that if Nick and Trubel are somehow related, it’s via infidelity on the part of one or the other of Nick’s parents. Technically, the dad would make more sense as it’d be easier in terms of, you know, no one noticing that Kelly was pregnant (including Nick, who would have been old enough to notice at the time). But then, we have no proof of whether Nick’s dad was a Grimm or not, so it’s difficult to say.

All in all, I find it pretty unlikely that they’re related, even though they do look a lot alike.

This post got some notes recently and I’m laughing because thanks to the finale, we now know they are related! Just not siblings. Cousins! 😊🤗

Last summer, Universal released Grimm – The Complete Collection in limited-edition packaging designed to resemble one of the journals from Aunt Marie’s trailer.

On July 3rd, Universal will re-release all six seasons of Grimm in a regular edition boxed set for $99.98 (DVD) and $129.98 (Blu-Ray).

The set comes with tons of bonus features, including deleted scenes, gag reels, documentaries, behind-the-scenes features, the “Meltdown” webisodes, and more. So…what are fans who didn’t get the limited-edition set missing out on?

Although both the DVD and Blu-Ray boxed set are much cheaper than the limited editions, all on-disc content will be the same. So if you missed the first release, don’t despair! Looks like only thing you’ll really be missing is the sweet packaging–which, while Grimm-tastic, may not be worth the $75-$95 more to fans with limited budgets.

(Especially since you can now obtain that set for less than $50 at many online retailers, and on eBay.)

I just finished season six, now what am I meant to do with my life?

Honestly it’s been a solid year since the series final aired, and I still don’t know the answer to that. Rewatch?

Rewatch!

Cry and start from the beginning

Oh shit, I still need to watch season 6.

Do I have to cry to start from the beginning, or can I save that for halfway through?

Cry first, watch season 6, cry again, and then start over from the beginning.

juliette got a bad rap because she was nick’s girlfriend and not a grimm or wessen, so fans just hated her. but she was sweet and supportive and goodhearted and has the worst most traumatizing story of all the grimm characters and I think its rotten that adalind got her happy ending and her boyfriend AND her baby like… wow (and fans liked meechy sweet adalind and hated sincere sweet juliette and that’s just hypocritical) if they ever make a s7 or movie they should fix her story – Bella

But where is the lie?

One of these days I’m going to finish my season 7 fanfic in which Juliette’s story gets a happier ending, Adalind gets to be the big bad she was always meant to be from Day 1, and Sean Renard gets squished like a bug under her stylish heels during her Path of Destruction. Not because I hate Sean, but because let’s face it: if Adalind went Full Bad someone would have to die for Dramatic Effect, and there is no way I’m killing any other member of Team Grimm (or any of the babies) because they have done nothing to deserve it but like…Sean really messed up and he never showed a single ounce of remorse about it. Maybe he sees Meisner one last time, as he’s dying (maybe while saving/protecting someone else), and they go into the light together or whatever (or something way less sappy).

Ahem. Anyway. Yeah. Some things need fixing in that ending.

(EDIT: I finally wrote it and am in the process of editing it. Chapter 1 is here.)

I theorized that Kelly was born with Grimm abilities already awoken, like he could already see Wessen woged and be just aware of it, and is okay with it. I remember a Wessen woging in front of him and he was smiling. I don’t know if that was what they were going for or that was just “Look at the cute baby.” Thoughts?

Hmmm…that’s an interesting theory! I actually kind of like that idea: that he grew up seeing Wesen from Day One so it was never strange to him. Although it would certainly make him unique in his world, as from what little we get in the show it seems like almost all Wesen get their first woge as teenagers, kind of like puberty, and Grimms don’t necessarily have it from birth either though it’s unclear exactly when the onset is or how consistent it is.

I wonder what about having a Hexenbiest mother and a Grimm father would do that? Or could it have something to do with the twinning spell somehow? The rules of magic in this world are murky. :/
