28 Days of Grimm, Day 2

Favorite Episode: Where the Wild Things Were

This episode!! There’s so much I could say about it. I could talk for days. The whole idea of this other, wilder world, the danger and also melancholy of it. Eve being there because she wants to atone for her mistakes, Nick going after her without a second thought. The two of them fighting side by side in a way we really haven’t seen before, finally equals and on the same page. The fact that they can trust each other like that after everything.

And that painful, heart-rending, cathartic speech Eve gives to Nick, absolving him of everything and assuring him she has no regrets. The fact that she makes the choice–she who has had so few choices up to that point–not to go back to what they were, breaking the love triangle by saying no, that’s not who I am or what I want anymore.

It hurts, my Silverhardt shipper heart especially, but it’s such a beautiful moment for them and for her.

This was a doozy for me to choose because, honestly, it changed almost every season. But I kept coming back to one person who I adore and want to live up to every day.

The incomparable Rosalee Calvert. Rosalee is just my type of character – intelligent, fierce, and loyal with steadfast morals but questionable ethics. Rosalee has a dark past that shaped her but didn’t jade her. She is dutiful but won’t be taken advantage of. She has a thirst for knowledge and a desire to help. Rosalee is empathetic and non-judgmental but will hold you accountable for your words and actions.

#grimm #this episode is my favorite of the whole series yall #idk if ive ever posted a grimm thing on my blog but just so yall know this and once upon a time are the first shows i ever started so #so Grimm really means a lot to me #and i CANNOT believe its been 10 years since it started #that does not compute

Grimm is probably one of the only shows I’ve ever watched beginning to end as it aired, so I feel those feels. The characters and world mean SO much to me even now, four years after the last episode aired. I still hold out hope that we’ll get a spin-off one of these days!

Day 1: Favorite Member of Team Grimm

Monroe has been my favorite almost since he was introduced in the pilot! I feel like he gave Nick a partner in the Wesen world to parallel Hank, Nick’s partner in the human world. I feel like that balance abd the levity he brought were crucial to making the first season work.

Throughout the show he was one of the people Nick trusted most, and he proved a loyal friend. He always took Nick’s side, for better or worse, and while I may not subscribe to that level of loyalty myself, it wasn’t hard to see why it made Monroe one of the most important people in Nick’s life. Plus, he’s just so darn cute with his fuzzy sweaters and many varied interests (craft beer, vegan cuisine, antiquities, Cello, pilates…I’m probably missing some)!

Also you should know, it was SO hard to find a good shot of him by himself, because he was always surrounded by the people he loves most. Tell me that doesn’t make you go 🥺.

I had to think about this one for a while. It was a toss up between Monroe & Wu… but I’m giving the sergeant the edge here.

I think Sgt. Drew Wu added just the right touch of levity and “wtf is going on here?” to the show. His human perspective on all the crazy was always appreciated as were his one-liners. Plus… he lived! A PoC side character survived! How often does that happen?
