I can’t help feeling that there was some real hurt & anger coming from Juliette in that funny scene where everyone was yelling & pulling on each other. Yeah, she’s under a spell but some of the stuff she said to Adalind were really close to home. Like about Nick and the baby. I think the spell just caused Juliette’s feelings to flare up & she finally said what she has bottled up inside. Especially since the spell made her Desperate for Nick. And she’s already in love with the guy.

I think you’re right on the mark, Nonny! It’s pretty clear by this point that Eve/Juliette still has feelings for Nick, and there is definitely some baggage there for her with regards to him and Adalind. This isn’t the first time those things have come up as problems or points of tension between Nick, Juliette/Eve, and Adalind either.

I think the spell may have made her feelings for Nick turn to an obsession and broken any filter/barriers she might have had in place keeping her from saying or even thinking about certain things, but in her unique case the spell definitely didn’t put feelings or thoughts there that didn’t exist previously.

Is Bitsie the lead female on the show?

I’m not really the right person to ask, Anon. I don’t write the actors’ contracts or sign their paychecks! She’s the first-billed of the women in the cast on the Grimm NBC website, IMDB, and the show’s Wikipedia page, but Grimm is really more of an ensemble show at this point and has been since season 2, so while David is indisputably the lead, it’s hard to say what order, if any, the rest of them fall into.

Fun fact, though: After David, the next person consistently billed on the cast list is Russell Hornsby!

This episode is so freaking weird!!!!!

It was definitely, as Liz said during the liveblog, one of the weirder ones, even for Grimm. And I’m pretty sure it was kind of a short break and some comic relief for us before shit gets real.

I mean, we had 6 episodes dealing with the fallout of last season’s finale, furthering the questions about the stick, and setting up some new mysteries. We have six more episodes left in the season, at least four of which have deeply concerning titles.

And then we had this episode smack in the middle that seemed like mostly filler but served–if you read between the lines–to air out and address a lot of things that hadn’t been fully dealt with yet, as well as really cement the bond between the members of Team Grimm.

Judging from that and the promo for next episode…things are about to get serious and dark. We’re in the downward slide now. I have a feeling this episode was, despite its weirdness, the brief calm before the storm.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RUNNING THIS BLOG IT’S SO FUN TO COME ON HERE AND BROWSE!!! I’m super sad Grimm is ending but I hope you will keep this blog running even after its over. It is such an unique show. :-) anyway, thanks for how polite you all are and how much enthusiasm you share. I AM SO PUMPED FOR NEXT WEEK!

Thank you so much, anon! I’m glad you enjoy the blog. And we will absolutely keep this blog running after the show is over. I mean, I still have tons of Grimm Stats to complete, for one, and we have other things we’ve started that we’d like to finish. Plus I’m sure there will be new fanfics to read, new theories as new people discover the show via DVD or streaming, and I’m pretty sure I could never rewatch this show too many times.

We may take a brief break after the show ends, but rest assured that FYNB will continue long after Grimm is finished!

The one question that will haunt me after the series finale: IS MONROE HIS FIRST OR LAST NAME?????

I’m almost positive that Monroe is his first name. I mean, I can see friends and acquaintances, even someone’s wife, calling them by their last name if that’s what they were used to calling them…but even his parents called him Monroe, which would be difficult to explain.

That being said, at this point I almost want them to never tell us. Just let it be an eternal mystery and quirk of the Grimm fandom, that we never learned for certain what Monroe’s other name was or even which name “Monroe” even was. Because he’s been “just Monroe” for so long I’m not sure any possible surname or first name would be satisfying.

I’m all for civil conversation, but the shipping wars of any fandom are ridiculous. I will always maintain that fandom should be a positive experience. And there’s so much else to talk about! I think most of us can agree that Monrosalee is a beautiful couple, Hank was hilarious in the latest episode, and Diana is one creepy kid. Though it was entertaining how she terrorized her kidnapper lol. The mythology, esp. of other cultures, can be really interesting too. Do you have a favorite wesen?

My favorite Wesen species/type is probably the blutbad. I know, I know, we have tons to choose from and I pick the first one we ever meet?

But I think that’s kind of why. Blutbaden were the first Wesen type we met and the first where we really got to know the individual characters behind the faces. And we’ve met a lot of them compared to most of the other types: the first MotW villain, Monroe, the Lassers, Holly, Bart and Alice, and at least two of Monroe’s blutbad friends. As a result, we probably know more about blutbaden than any other Wesen type, even fuchsbaus.

And then, too, I just love Monroe, so much. His tendency to ramble and be an endless font of knowledge about this world (and various and sundry other things) along with his early friendship with Nick were the main reasons I fell so in love with the show that I kept watching past the first few episodes.

(fellow admins feel free to add your own fave!)

Something I noticed: 5×07 promotional videos with Nadalind kissing. Happy Nadalind fans getting excited. The vast majority of Silverhardt fans being respectfully quiet and not yelling at the Nadalind fans. 6×07 promo: Silverhardt kissing. Silverhardt haters ALL OVER that video, yelling at the ship and Juliette. Attacking any Silverhardt fan who dares show their support. 😒

I can neither confirm nor deny that this is true, but I can say it lines up with my fandom experiences for the last six years.

That being said, this is for all the fans, Nadalind, Silverhardt, slash shipper, or indifferent: stop. attacking. each other. Discourse is one thing, but jumping on each other because you ship different things is just painfully immature, not to mention unnecessary.

I mean…what does anyone get out of that? Moreover, what do you think it says about your ship to the rest of the fandom, if all they ever see is its shippers attacking people, and putting down other ships, characters, and even the actors who play them?

So cut it out. And if you see other fans doing it, maybe tell them to cut it out too. We have seven episodes left. Just seven! After that last episode airs and the credits roll, it will never be like this again. Ever. Sure, there’ll be new metas, maybe, the occasional new fic or fanart, fans discovering the show for the first time on streaming sites and blogging about it.

But there won’t be anymore of that “new episode this Friday!” feeling we get now. There won’t be any more promos, sneak peaks, new photos from the next ep, theorizing about what wild thing the writers will think of next. No more of the writers trolling us good-naturedly during hiatus. No more of Bitsie giving names to things, or posting drinking games during the episode.

It’s going to be different, it’s going to feel different. And while we’ll always have the show to go back to, it will be going back. Never forward. We’ll be loving something that was, not something that is.

So enjoy this now, while we can. And try to remember that whatever our different opinions are on various parts of the show, we all love this show. We have that in common. And we’re all gonna miss it when it’s gone.
