I think I remember David Giuntoli mentioning S5 had an open ending so they were glad it had been renewed for S6? So my guess is Black Claw continues onto the next season but we never know really I guess!

Hey there Anon – Admin Liz here. David’s right – Grimm’s formula tends to be that the season finale is about 3 eps long and ends in a major cliff hanger, followed by a sassy/unapologetic title card from the writers, and then the cliff hanger is resolved sometime in the first three episodes of the next season. That’d be hard to follow if we didn’t have season six.

One would hope that if/when the show ends, they know with plenty of time so that they can properly wrap it up so that we don’t end up with a terrible cliff hanger and no answers.

Here’s the thing about groups like Black Claw – they’re virtually impossible to eradicate. Think KKK or Nazis, or any number of similar groups. From a Grimm!verse standpoint, as long as the idea is there, the group will continue. I can’t imagine a situation where Team Grimm is able to fully dismantle BC, just make them go dark for a while. There will always be wesen who agree with what BC is preaching.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say, is that it seems plausible that Black Claw could become an underlying evil for the rest of Grimm’s lifespan, however many seasons that will be. But you’re right – we won’t know until it’s all over!

I love reading your opinions and wanted to ask, what do you think of what Grimm have done with Renhardt over the seasons and where they are now?

Hi Anon – Admin Liz here. I think that Sean and Nick have had a very tense relationship (however you want to define it, romantic, friend, coworkers, etc) ever since Nick presented as a Grimm.

Team Grimm has always been sort of suspicious of Renard, and who can blame them? His motivations have never been obvious, and we really have no idea where his loyalties lie (nowhere in my opinion, I think he’s out for himself, which is one of the reasons I love him).

Ever since S1, they’ve relied on each other out of necessity – they know a lot of secrets about each other. The conflict we’re seeing between them this season is something that seems to have been building for a while now, and I’m excited to see how it gets resolved (whether it ends in Renard being our Big Bad, or in him tellng Nick he has a plan, or something completely out of left field).

Is it too much to hope that Hank is actually onto Zuri and is playing along to see what she is up to?

Hi Anon! Admin Liz here – I wouldn’t say it’s too much to hope, but I would say that we, as omnipotent viewers, have a very different perspective on the issue. Hank has a lot going on right now, so I think that he’s enjoying having something relatively normal and low-key happening in his life. I, personally, don’t think he’s suspicious of Zuri simply because he doesn’t want to bring all of the Team Grimm baggage into something that can act as an escape for him. His previous experiences with Zuri are also probably clouding any suspicious behavior.

Hopefully he’ll be a little more on his toes after the end of last episode (when they said to be suspicious of everyone), but we’ll have to see how it works out!

Do you think this Black Claw storyline will be resolved by the end of season 5 or it will continue into season 6?

Hi Nonny! Admin Liz here – I guess I’m personally kinda torn. Part of me hopes it is, because I like when storylines are neatly finished, but most of me hopes it continues into S6. There’s so much left to explain, and so many places they could go, it’d be a shame to waste the story potential.

The relationship between Black Claw/Hadrian’s Wall/The Resistance/The Royals is really intriguing to me, and I’m super curious how all these power forces interact with each other. That being said, I hope that the writers actually address this obvious power struggle and what exactly the end game is for each of these groups.

Do you think Grimm is going to kill off Hank? Rusell wasn’t in the picture for the last day of filming for season 5 and a main character is supposed to be be dying this season aren’t they?

Hi Anon – Admin Liz here.

I really hope they don’t kill off Hank because he’s been with us since season one, and I, personally, absolutely adore him. Russell not being in the wrap photo doesn’t necessarily mean he was killed off – I think they’d actually make a point to include him if that was the case. He may just not have been around when it was taken.

Every year there are rumors that a main character is going to be killed off, and we’ve come close few times, but I try to not let those rumors stress me out until something actually happens.

Do you know where I can find the Grimm characters sorted into Hogwart Houses?

We’ve actually done that here on FYNB. Not everyone, necessarily, but a few. Here are the posts for each house. If you check the notes you can find some good discussion/meta on why these choices were made:

Gryffindor | Hufflepuff | Ravenclaw | Slytherin

If you like our choices but there’s a character not covered in these posts that you’d like to see Sorted, send us another message and we’ll be happy to Sort them for you!

Do you read Grimm spoilers? Like, press releases for upcoming episodes?

Hi anon, Liza here. I do occasionally do a search for Grimm press releases, promo trailers, and interviews, but I actually don’t put that much stock in what I find there, beyond a bit of fun speculation. And here’s why:

If I’ve learned anything over the last five years it’s that press releases, promos, and interviews lie. The press release will give you just the barest outline of the next episode’s details, enough to get you interested. The promos will overdramatize something, taking different snippets of scenes and putting them together out of context to make things look more dire than they really are (like when they made it look like Nick was totes going to try to kill Juliette last season the second he found out her secret).

And the Grimm writers, cast, and crew are notorious trolls when it comes to teasing things in interviews that may never happen, or shooting down ideas that are going to happen as ridiculous.

I’ve actually seen a few posts and things around tumblr expressing frustration and hurt at this practice, but really…what do people expect? That they’ll tell us the whole plot before we’ve even seen the show? No, they won’t do that. Moreover, in the actors’ case, they can’t. They probably have very strict guidelines for what they can tell us and how they can phrase certain things, and keeping to those guidelines is just part of their job.

TL’DR? Yes I do occasionally look up spoilery stuff, but I don’t put a ton of stock in it, and I try not to get too worked up until I’ve actually seen the episode.
