It’s weird…Monroe looks skyward and talks to his dad like you talk to someone who’s dead, but he’s not. I wonder if they meant for Monroe’s family to all be dead and then changed it later.

The first time Nick trusted Monroe with the trailer! ^_^
I feel like this episode is canonical proof that Grimms are actually quite physically resilient and hard to kill. Because Nick should have been nearly dead after that beating, but he didn’t even have any broken bones.
Juliette is shown to be kind and compassionate from episode one but this episode is the first time she shows her just ridiculous levels of courage and badassery.
That guy is HUGE. And she doesn’t try to escape, she runs for a weapon. Her first instinct is the knives…she was straight up going to try to stab this guy. But then she saw the boiling water and figured that would work better.
Just…I never get over how amazing she was in this episode.
God imagine if Nick had dawdled on putting that water on to boil? 😫😫😫
Why is it that every TV cop ever is like “I know it’s protocol for me to not work a case where I’m a target but let’s ignore all that because I am too Badass and Dedicated for the rule to apply!” ???
Tsk tsk Hank. Tsk tsk.
Nick pretending not to know where Monroe keeps the coffee cups! 😂
Jesus. I always forget how gruesome the ogre crime scenes were.
Top 5 Grimm Moments by Season
Season 1, #3: Juliette saves Nick from the Siegbarste in 1×08, “Game Ogre”
The thing that was so cool about this scene for me is that it’s one of the first times we really get to see Juliette’s strength, and what kind of person she is. In fact, this short scene spells out their characters and their entire relationship in a violent nutshell:
Nick’s first instinct is to protect Juliette, to try to handle the problem himself even when it’s clear he’s out of his depth. Meanwhile, Juliette assesses the situation and acts independently, disregarding Nick’s attempts to protect her in favor of protecting him. It’s such a great scene and marked the first time Juliette really made me sit up and pay attention, because damn, girl.
