Nick you giant smoosh-hearted muffin. Twenty bucks for a necklace that went out of style in the 90s. x’D

AAAAAAAAAGH IT’S SO FRUSTRATING. Nick wanted to tell Juliette as far back as EPISODE TEN. And he should have!
Like Monroe, I love you. But Juliette is not THE VAST MAJORITY OF HUMANS. She could absolutely have handled it.
I mean, I get it. At this point Monroe is basically a loner hermit who’s half-afraid of his own nature and still getting used to having A Single Friend (of COURSE his first friend in years would be a freaking Grimm too), so he’s extra wary of telling anyone anything.
(And Nick still should have made the decision anyway, but his One Mentor in this new life of his is saying no so I get that too.)
BUT STILL. IT’S SO FRUSTRATING TO WATCH AGAIN.
Aaaaand that’s when Nick and Monroe were all in as partners in this wacky Grimm thing.
“At least I know who you are.”
Oh HONEY. 😦
I just…I feel bad for Marty. His dad was such an abusive jerk, and then he’s finally free of him but he literally starts hallucinating every bully in his life as having his father’s face.
That doesn’t at all excuse his treatment of Natalie toward the end, poor girl (which I think he understood on some level, given he started hallucinating himself with his father’s face). But he definitely needed therapy and help and I doubt he’ll get it in prison.
Okay, so you have the Bauerschwine striking at the Blutbaden (twice, actually, seasons apart). You have Marty the Maushertz attacking bullies, including one of his natural predators (the Lausenschlange). The Mellifers fighting back against the Hexenbiests. Arguably Roddy the Reinigen falls under this category of timid Wesen fighting back, even though he wasn’t necessarily targeting a Wesen that was targeting him, per se. And you have the sheep Wesen later on in the series as well.
I think fandom often focuses on all “the bad ones” i.e. the natural predator-type Wesen who have worked hard to put that heritage of destruction and violence behind them as examples of how Wesen are not defined and shouldn’t be stereotyped by the animal side of their nature. It’s easy to forget how often the show goes the other way to touch on Wesen that are used to being stepped on who finally have enough and start to fight back.
And it’s…worth asking where a Grimm fits into this schematic. I mean clearly, Grimms haven’t historically just stuck to killing “the bad ones,” i.e. Wesen that were violent toward humans. Otherwise, Wesen like Eisbibers would seemingly have no reason to fear them. And yet.
Poor Monroe. Though you gotta love that his reaction to getting roughed up for working with Nick is basically “well now I’m all in! Gonna work with you even more! Fuck those guys!”
Ugghhhhh Mason Snyder’s woge still wigs me out.
They STILL have Juliette in bright red all the damn time!
Hank gets so morbidly poetic about a junkyard. 😂
