Tbh I’ve never rewatched season two before this, specifically because it is ROUGH, but on rewatch I’m realizing that while it felt disjointed and random on first watch, the pieces build and fit together as well as season one’s did. It’s like. Intricate as fuck but the pieces all slot together wonderfully.

You know, I don’t think Adalind knew anyone well enough (other than maybe Sean) to do this on purpose, but she really did play on everyone’s greatest hangup/weakness with that damn sleeping beauty spell.

Quick update: Friend had to go home so I’m getting his reactions via text instead of in real time.

Took a nap this afternoon and woke up to a wall of all-caps texting to the tune of “what the fuck what the fuck oh shit what the fuck.”

He is currently at the part where Monroe catches Renard and Juliette making out. 😬😬😬

Should I continue my own rewatch? I have a lot of other things on my watchlist, but it WAS fun!

So in retrospect, I think the most charitable explanation for Nick sleeping on the couch in season 2 is that they HAD a guestroom but it wasn’t really set up with a bed or anything. Like maybe they used it for storage or something. And after the shenanigans of season 2 they were like “well that sucked, let’s set up a guest room just in case!”

Nick does SO badly in season 2 and I can’t help but feel awful for him. Like. He has everything working against him and he does NOT handle it well at all. He isolates Juliette because the people she remembers from the last year who COULD give her answers can’t really be open with her in deference to him. He isn’t honest with her, which is understandable but also a tragic misstep on his part (and part of a pattern that persists). He’s both gone a lot and overeager and overbearing when he’s around. It’s all together too painful to watch.
