La Llorona was one of the first episodes where they really ventured off of the Grimm Fairytales and into general cultural fables. While they don’t always get it on point, I’m still glad that they decided to build in more cultural references.

Ok, time for my “I love Monroe” tirade of the day:
He takes the time to learn as much as he can about everything he’s doing. He knows everything about clocks, about old camera equipment, model trains, etc. But, when he takes care of the spice show for Rosalee, he gets to know all the ingredients and products they have available.
Adalind is finally back. Until I started this rewatch, I never noticed how much she was gone in the early seasons. I’m much more appreciative of her screen time now. Claire Coffee is a gem.
This episode, The Other Side, has one of the best twists the show has ever done.
