Alright, Nick. You had a WIDE OPEN doorway to tell not one, but TWO people about you in the same episode [S1 E21]!! The literal TWO PEOPLE that you truly need to tell. Your partner is showing signs of believing he is actively losing his mind. Legitimately witnessed a Wesen revert back to human form in front of his eyes and you’re one chicken nugget short in this unhappy meal of gaslighting him. Reaffirm this man’s mental state and that it isn’t actually collapsing at a rapid pace. Your girlfriend (or would-be fiancé if you’d just DO THIS ALREADY) is literally confessing her inner thoughts to you about what IF the stories you’ve been told were actually real — what if Big Foot and all the others are REAL? What more of an intro do you need??? She put an entire bag of balls in your court, man.
I can’t say I’m sorry but I can say I FEEL YOUR PAIN OH MY GOD.
Literally there was no better time for Nick to tell BOTH of them IMO than in that episode. Hank saw what he saw, there was no putting any cats back in any bags. The options were let Hank think he was seeing things that weren’t there or TELL HIM THE TRUTH.
And I’ve ranted about this before, but Nick and Juliette were in a GOOD PLACE, and they were CALM, and she was OPEN TO THE IDEA of the supernatural, actively seeking it even. That would have been an INCREDIBLE time to tell her.
But no. That would just make too much sense!!
(Like yes I know Nick was operating based off what Monroe told him in Juliette’s case but in Hank’s case there was no excuse IMO. He had already seen things and was ALREADY freaking out. And it was the not knowing that was terrorizing him, not the knowing.)
How do I keep getting pulled into these shows that suck me in and stress me out? I am thoroughly enjoying Grimm and can’t believe I’ve waited to watch it as long as I have. But FFS, the amount of layers of information is wild and they do NOT reveal certain details easily or for free. You will pay the ransom with mental real estate as it occupies your mind while you try so very hard to connect the dots and figure things out BEFORE they tell you. Minor plus to this show is it allows me to exercise my German — as terrible as the choices are at times.
