Okay show of hands (likes/reblogs), who would be interested in a Grimm Discord server if I set one up, and what kinds of channels would you want to see on it?
Okay! I’m gonna do the thing. Stay tuned!

The first time she looks at the ring she’s so excited. Happy.
The second time, there’s doubt. Sadness. I think this scene is where Juliette really fully admits to herself that she and Nick are not okay. That he’s changed.
This is where she realizes she can’t say yes when he asks.
Look, I am NOT writing 130k words of fix-it for grimm again. I’m tired Gandalf. BUT.
- Nick is shocked, and hurt, and doesn’t understand
- There is no wesen neighbours to save this time, and they talk
- Through the night and well into the other day of the romantic escapade, Nick clamping up and getting more and more panicky because what if his aunt was right, was if he got Juliette killed or worse
- Juliette getting sadder and sadder and more and more frustrated because she knows, she knows Nick has problems communicating but this is so much worse, it feels like he’s hiding something big, is it because he killed someone? Because his only family died at the same time? Does he feels alone and scared of her leaving?
- And Nick sort of blunt out that he’s scared he’s going to get her killed, that everything is different now and he’s afraid their home isn’t safe anymore and he isn’t safe anymore for her
- Juliette asks if he saw the police psychologist and Nick kind of… Looks down and grind his teeth because as if that’s going to help
- Juliette, now so tired on top of being sad and frustrated, ask what exactly is going to help, because maybe he want to give up, but she’s not yet
- Nick swallows hard and tells her if she thinks he’s crazy now, it’s not going to get any better and maybe it’s better if she leave him
- Juliette get a little silent at that. He just went from proposing to saying she should leave, and she still doesn’t know why.
- So she says ok, fine, hit me up with the crazy, what do we have to loose at this point?
- They go to Monroe and Rosalee, Nick insisting that she needs to see or she’ll never believe him
- She sees and she believe, because it’s better than going crazy. She understand now.
- They still need time. But there’s not secret anymore.
Yes yes YES.
Or even…a few episodes later (and ONE EPISODE before he actually does try to tell her):
- Juliette wonders aloud if things like Big Foot might be more than stories.
- Nick takes a beat and says…“I want to show you something. But I’ll need someone else first. Give me a minute?”
- He calls Monroe and asks him to come over. Tells him it’s time to tell Juliette the truth but he needs help, he needs proof.
- Monroe has approximately 2.5 panic attacks, turns around 3 times on the way there, and finally tracks down Bud and makes him come too.
- “Why me?” “You’re less scary! No offense.”
- Meanwhile Nick goes back to Juliette and tells her she was right, at the cabin. He hasn’t been as open with her since his aunt died. But he wants to be.
- Juliette is…a little weirded out to find Nick’s CI/friend and the refrigerator repair guy on her doorstep but she rolls with it. Nick is finally opening up to her, whatever it is at least once its out they can deal with it.
- (She’s thinking it could be all sorts of things it is not. Undercover op? Polyamory?)
- Nick rips off the bandaid, so to speak.
- “What you said about the stories being real? This is going to sound…weird. But um…what if I said they were? What if I could prove it?”
- Cue Bud. Juliette is…well. Weirded out. But not too badly. Eisbibers woges are adorable, after all.
- Nick explains about Marie. His family legacy. The trailer. Who Adalind really is. Why Bud got so freaked out that time. How he really met Monroe. What was really up with the time he got hospitalized and the time she got kidnapped. How he can see Wesen when they don’t want to be seen.
- Juliette is, above all, cool-headed. Logical. Nick picked a moment when they were calm, in a good place. A moment when she was already open to it.
- All she really wants to know is: why didn’t he tell her sooner?
faefzdrzdgdfgzgh OKAY OKAY
- That’s Monroe cue to akwardly grab Bud
- “How about some beers after all of that right? I’m parched!” “Uh, but-” “PARCHED I SAY just let’s go now”
- And for Nick to stammer and rub the back of his neck and look at his feet because that’s the million dollars question
- Juliette crosses her arms and stare at him, is it because he doesn’t trust her?
- Nick look up with a start, all big blue eyes because no, of course no
- then he start to get red around the ears and kind of… Wriggle with embarassement
- “It’s very stupid” he starts, before clapsing his hands in front of him “and I’m sorry”
- Juliette nods, she’ll think about accepting that apology later.
- Nick is wriggling again. It’s cute but she’s not in the mood to save him from himself.
- “I thought I was having hallucinations, then my aunt told me it was real and that I would get you killed, then I had to shoot someone and Adalind Shade dosed me in the hospital and then it just kept going and I… Never found the right moment.”
- Juliette sighs and drops on the couch. “I don’t thing there is a right moment for that kind of thing Nick.”
- “Hi honey, I’m seeing monsters and they’re so scared of me half of them want to kill me on sight?”
- Juliette chuckles at that. “You still should have told me earlier.”
- Nick kneels in from of her earnestly, hesitating just a beat before taking her hands in his. “Yeah, you’re right. I’m sorry.”
- “I’m not sure I can forgive you right now.”
- He stares at her with his big blue eyes and a fragile smile. “Maybe later?”
- She frees on of her hands to push his hair away from his face. She can’t help but smile a little too. “Maybe.”
- That’s when there’s a noise outside.
- Monroe and Bud are anxiously watching through the window.
- They have the beers.
- “Dude, It was Bud idea, Honest!”
Juliette invites them inside for Thai food. She’s not totally ready to be alone with Nick and this big new truth at the moment.
But during the course of that meal Monroe lets slip that he kinda led Nick to believe telling her the truth might like…break her brain.
That Nick has been dying to tell her for ages but thought he couldn’t because of that.
Monroe immediatly Feels The Heat and drops his chopsticks, getting hot and sour sauce everywhere. He starts mopping the mess and rambling about past experiences, what his parents said, that one time one of his cousins was sloshed, and I mean absolutly plastered, like pants on head level of intoxication, and anyways that day half the bar checked themselves into the nearest psychiatric hospital so yeah, he just thought that, you know, better safe than sorry.
And right now he’s obviously very sorry, just so you know.
Juliette is… Blinking. She got kind of lost at the third aside, but she’s pretty sure there’s an apology in there somewhere?
Bud is rubbing his hands together, nodding along because obviously, blutbaden are Just Like That

Are you rewatching, too!?!?
I know we don’t see eye to eye on Adalind but this statement is 💯.
Her arc tho. There was room for improvement but her arc was quite the transition. And I like all the analysis that came from it, too! She’s a very… interesting character to say the least but always, always woven within the thread. She one way or another decided the outcome, whether she anticipated it or not.
Yes! Well, very slowly, as real life allows.
And yes, there’s no doubt that Adalind has one of the most drastic changes from start to finish of any other character on the show (I think the only comparable one is Juliette, and I think in a lot of ways their arcs actually mirror each other).
And she absolutely moved the plot more than any other single character I can think of, from start to finish. In fact I feel like every major shift in the show’s plot came from her character in one way or another. The end of seasons one, three, and four without question, and arguably the endgame is set into motion by her as well, in a way.

Miss this show, miss these guys…

New Woges: 1 (Dämonfeuer)
Deaths: 4
Arcane Wesen Rituals: 1
Heinous Writer Puns: 1 (basically everything about Ariel Eberhart from her job to her choice of music at said job qualifies as one big writer pun)
Instances of Unmitigated Badassery: 2 (Juliette punching Ariel, Nick going in with no plan to save her)
(Semi) Shirtless Rage: 2 (Nick shirtlessly demanding Ariel give back his phone, and later shirtlessly chasing her with a gun)
New German Term(s): 1 (Dämonfeuer)
Trailer Time: 25 seconds
Cello Theme Used? NoI don’t know if you’re saying semi shirtless rage because nick is roughly half a captain in width or because the shirt isn’t completely off.
Valid question! Why not both. 😂
Poor Nick. He’s a homicide detective with a healthy relationship and a nice house. Then suddenly his aunt is dying and he’s seeing terrifying creatures everywhere he goes, and apparently he has a whole damn destiny that’s coming for him.
“Oh shit I’m a main character”
Oh shit I need to get back into this show.
I need to warn you that there is no season 6. Like, they will lie to you and tell you that there’s 13 episodes with a satisfaying conclusion but this is juste elaborate bad fanfiction.
Noted. After season five go to the Actual Good Content on A03.
Oh great, I’m in the middle of season 4 right now and that’s really not good to hear. I can already tell the whole key stuff is going to end up either incredibly rushed all at once or just left open forever. As a writer I’d try to wrap things up then jump 15-20 years to handle key stuff and baby stuff at the same time in a 2 or 3 season sequel series, but I’m guessing that’s not how things go.
I don’t want to spoil you, but there was an attempt made to wrap as much up as they could in the episodes they had left. There are varying levels of happiness with that across the fandom.
Some people loved the ending. A lot found it okay but unsatisfying in some ways (I’m among that set). And some were really unhappy with it.
The good news is they’re developing a spin-off, which gives them another chance to fill in some of the gaps and fix some issues (if it gets green-lit)!
That’s a good point. I’m sitting at “so unhappy I wrote more that 130k words of fix-it fic”. It goes to show it was really polarizing at least.
Interested in sharing a link to your fic(s)? We’d love to signal boost some more Grimm fanfic on the blog!
And that FUCKING ENDING. I know every time I rewatch it I scream about that ending but THERE’S A REASON FOR THAT.

Oh sweet god.
…Maybe???
