doctors on Grimm are like: Nick has 5387 extra cones in his eyes and his metabolism is inhuman?? Oh well, he’s just built different i guess 🤷♂️
Just a bit.
He never came back because after the eighth hospital trip (you know he got hospitalized more than the series showed us) they’d started calling him to be included in studies and trials and stuff. He blocked their phone number. He doesn’t remember when his follow up appointments are and they can’t get ahold of him. He just… Disappears.
Results are in! The final results of each poll are listed below.
Poll 1: Sean Renard won with 92.6% of 54 votes total. He blew the competition away!
Poll 2: Nick Burkhardt won with 44.3% of 61 votes total. Some of you questioned how likely he was to win in a fight with Kelly in the notes, rightfully so!
Poll 3: Diana Schade Renard won with 60% of 50 votes. And that’s fair! I certainly wouldn’t fight her.
Poll 4: Juliette Silverton a.k.a. Eve won with 71.2% of 52 votes. As she should!
Poll 5: Monroe won with 43.1% of 58 votes. But a lot of you were betting he would lose a fight to his wife (and I kinda agree tbh).
Poll 6: Martin Miesner won with 46.2% of 52 votes. We miss you king!
Poll 7: Catherine Schade won with 42.1% of 38 votes. Good thing she wasn’t up against Kelly!
Poll 8: Alexander, our favorite ambassador from the Wesen Council, won with 51.5% of 33 votes. Which is fair, considering the competition!
Poll 9: Monroe’s mom Alice won with 38.1% of 42 votes. Makes sense to me!
Poll 10: Walter Kessler (Marie and Kelly’s dad, Nick’s grandfather) won with 39.5% of 38 votes. Good on him!

And that’s a wrap for round 1! News on round 2 is coming later tonight.
I don’t think there’s need to doubt later season!Nick being able to best his mother.
When Kelly fought Nick, he was young and inexperienced and already fought Kimura.
I also expect for Grimms to have the same discrepancy between the strength of the different sexes. Female Grimms definitely can best normal men, but I think against male Grimms the scale is uneven again.
Additionally, Nick has the advantage of his body having adapted and counteracted the cracher-mortel poison. It is, of course possible that Kelly went through the same ordeal once, since we don’t know her entire story, but I highly doubt the odds.
And he’s got super hearing, which makes him react much faster to sound, so even if she did get a drop on him visually, he can still see her coming!
Yeah exactly, the hearing also factors in.
Oh my gosh, that would be something to ponder for the WIP!
Oh another thought to ponder on is whether or not Grimm pass their adaptations onto their kids. Maybe that’s how Grimm started in the first place, someone developing an adaptation that they could see the woge, and that went onto their kids, and so on and so forth. Maybe Nick is better at being a Grimm, more resilient, because of something that happened to his mom before she had him.
Love seeing Grimm meta in my notifications again! 😊
The only thing canon really gives us is that Grimms absorb/adapt whatever makes them stronger. So it’s really a toss-up with any given set of Grimms who would win in a fight. It would all be so dependent on what training they’ve had, what uh…field experience they’ve had, what they’ve absorbed or adapted.
You could VERY generally guess that a Grimm with more active training and fighting experience would likely have the upper hand, but it’s truly impossible to say for sure. And given how much of what happened to Nick was entirely without precedent so far as at least 3 separate collections of generational magical knowledge knew, it’s unlikely Kelly or anyone else has had the same experiences. So I agree, it’s fair to say Nick would be extremely formidable by the end of the series, especially compared to the baby Grimm he started as.
seriously though? Nick was in that mirror for only a handful of hours, but to him it felt like days. Nick came out of the mirror the second time and the only one who doesn’t know what hes gone through is his girlfriend’s daughter because she’s magical. Juliette/Eve didn’t even know and she was there with him in the Otherworld the whole time!
Nick comes flying out of the mirror and for a long few moments, he’s so shocked and panicked that he literally can’t hear or see anything that’s going on around him. His breathing is quick and ragged and he’s physically shaking hard enough that he can’t properly stand up and when his eyes finally do focus on what’s around him, every single one of his friends and family is theres surrounding him looking concerned. Every single person that Nick held as they took there last breath is there trying to see if he’s alright. His eyes are watering as he hugs everyone and No One Knows What He Just Went Through.
But Nick is Nick.. They don’t need to know that he’s spent the last day feeling hollow; They don’t need to know that his hand was covered in his best friend’s blood; They don’t need to know that Nick almost sacrificed himself to bring them back only to find that they don’t even know they’re all dead. So Nick doesn’t tell them. He turns to his friends, holds his girlfriend’s hand, hugs his son and tells them all that he never thought he’d see them again. He says that he felt like they were gone forever. His friend’s are worried sick, staring at him because he’s pale, shaking, crying, and honestly looks like he’s just seen eight ghosts. He looks like he’s going to pass out honestly. Somehow, it’s been minutes since Nick has been gone through the mirror after Juliette, but he has come back looking like he hasn’t slept in three days, with tears in his eyes showing that he’s not as fine as he puts on.
Anyways, David did such a good job acting that final scene like…you could truly see how emotional Nick was and im like….super emo about it.
Day 26: The Moment That Made you Fall in love With Grimm.
Well, that would have to be this moment from when Juliette gets her memories back. This was the moment that finally made Nick (who is the main character of the show) click in my brain. I finally connected to him (after a season of thinking he was boring and unlikable) and I haven’t looked back since.
The answer to this question for me is always silverhardt, (although I do also ADORE Monroe and Rosalee, don’t get me wrong.) I will be on this ship for years, they have had me since I first watched the show.
They managed to be with each other through all of their troubles…..at least until season 4 (UGH. I WILL FOREVER HATE THE WRITERS.) Although, ironically, I do have a soft spot for Villain!Juliette, it was good to see her rightfully express her anger.
I am glad the later seasons gave them some sort of resolution, even if it wasn’t quite what I wanted for them.
(Also my copy of season 2 uses the phrase “the love of his life” to describe Juliette and I think about that a lot more than I should.)
The fierceness with which these two loved and protected each other just knocks me over every time. They fought so hard to get to a place where they could be honest and protect each other, and I was devastated when the final season teased a resolution for them only to never deliver. But I will never be over the sweetness of the early seasons, the longing looks of the last two, or the sheer euphoria I felt watching Eve relearn how to feel just from being in Nick’s presence (or kick ass from one side of Portland to another on a quest to rescue him). No matter how it ended, like Eve…
This episode!! There’s so much I could say about it. I could talk for days. The whole idea of this other, wilder world, the danger and also melancholy of it. Eve being there because she wants to atone for her mistakes, Nick going after her without a second thought. The two of them fighting side by side in a way we really haven’t seen before, finally equals and on the same page. The fact that they can trust each other like that after everything.
And that painful, heart-rending, cathartic speech Eve gives to Nick, absolving him of everything and assuring him she has no regrets. The fact that she makes the choice–she who has had so few choices up to that point–not to go back to what they were, breaking the love triangle by saying no, that’s not who I am or what I want anymore.
It hurts, my Silverhardt shipper heart especially, but it’s such a beautiful moment for them and for her.
This! This right here is the Grimm we fell in love with. This has similar energy to Nick’s appeal to the Eisbibers in season 1. His abilities as a protector and negotiator to resolve conflicts was always more interesting to me than the whole “decapitare” side of being a Grimm.
