Is, is anyone but Liza still here? I haven’t seen anyone else’s tags in a long time. I don’t mean to pry but as a long time follower/interactor, I’m just a little weirded out. Don’t get me wrong I love Liza, but I also love all of the admins and miss them.

We generally try to have three admins at any given time (although we have had times when there was only one).

The current active admins are Liz, Liza, and D. Liz has been doing most of the liveblogging this season. Liza (that’s me!) has been answering most of the asks, filling gif requests, and posting some TBT promo photos. And D doesn’t post very often. Mostly she lets us know if we have made egregious errors in spelling or information, although she did recently update her meta on Grimm geneology.

Siobhan, who was responsible for the awesome Music Monday posts and did some great meta on the costumes of Grimm, decided to take an indefinite time out from tumblr and the Grimm fandom last year, during summer hiatus. She enjoyed being here and misses the fandom, but decided she needed to get some distance.

TL;DR: Three of us are still here, but only two post regularly and our names are only one letter different.

Something I noticed: 5×07 promotional videos with Nadalind kissing. Happy Nadalind fans getting excited. The vast majority of Silverhardt fans being respectfully quiet and not yelling at the Nadalind fans. 6×07 promo: Silverhardt kissing. Silverhardt haters ALL OVER that video, yelling at the ship and Juliette. Attacking any Silverhardt fan who dares show their support. 😒

I can neither confirm nor deny that this is true, but I can say it lines up with my fandom experiences for the last six years.

That being said, this is for all the fans, Nadalind, Silverhardt, slash shipper, or indifferent: stop. attacking. each other. Discourse is one thing, but jumping on each other because you ship different things is just painfully immature, not to mention unnecessary.

I mean…what does anyone get out of that? Moreover, what do you think it says about your ship to the rest of the fandom, if all they ever see is its shippers attacking people, and putting down other ships, characters, and even the actors who play them?

So cut it out. And if you see other fans doing it, maybe tell them to cut it out too. We have seven episodes left. Just seven! After that last episode airs and the credits roll, it will never be like this again. Ever. Sure, there’ll be new metas, maybe, the occasional new fic or fanart, fans discovering the show for the first time on streaming sites and blogging about it.

But there won’t be anymore of that “new episode this Friday!” feeling we get now. There won’t be any more promos, sneak peaks, new photos from the next ep, theorizing about what wild thing the writers will think of next. No more of the writers trolling us good-naturedly during hiatus. No more of Bitsie giving names to things, or posting drinking games during the episode.

It’s going to be different, it’s going to feel different. And while we’ll always have the show to go back to, it will be going back. Never forward. We’ll be loving something that was, not something that is.

So enjoy this now, while we can. And try to remember that whatever our different opinions are on various parts of the show, we all love this show. We have that in common. And we’re all gonna miss it when it’s gone.

Just a quick reminder that replying to/reblogging our posts with misogynistic slurs (or any slurs for that matter) is not acceptable and will result in your blog being blocked. Please, guys. We have nine episodes left. Let’s make it fun.

PSA: Block Policy

In case no one has caught on yet, we do summarily block people who reblog/reply to our posts with hateful comments, ad hominem attacks, or abuse aimed at the cast, the writers, other fans, or shippers.

It’s one thing to dislike a ship or character or criticize it as problematic. It’s another to say hateful things about actual people with no basis except not liking their ship. Hell, we don’t even allow people to badmouth Nadalind shippers on this blog, and every admin here thinks that the ship itself is nasty, so what makes you think we would allow people to do it to other shippers?

Speaking for myself, I’m officially too old for that shit. We’re not going to argue with you anymore. We’re just going to block you. This season will be full of fun, full of discourse, full of meta, but free of wank on FYNB.

Just a note about the five factions posts: I have tried to include character examples of the best outcomes of the factions, but also one example of the worst for each faction. For Erudite, arrogance. For Candor, callousness. For Dauntless, brutality. For Amity, cowardice. And for Abnegation, a total loss of self-awareness.

Hi Grimmsters,

In light of the cancellation news and the extended hiatus, we’ve decided to take this week to put our heads together and make some decisions about the direction of the blog going forward. Don’t worry: we are in no way considering ending the blog. We just want to reassess the hiatus material we have and decide what to post during the extra two months we hadn’t planned for.

We’ll still be posting some things this week, just not every day like we’ve been doing so far. If you have ideas for things you’d like to see, let us know in the ask box!

For anyone uncertain what the Eaglecrest sorting posts are about:

Eaglecrest is a U.S.-based Wizarding School made up by tumblr user sashayed while she was drunk. It’s pretty awesome, makes waaay more sense as a U.S. Wizarding school than Ilvermorny does in a lot of ways…and a lot of tumblrites from the U.S. who are uncomfortable/angered by the racism in J.K. Rowling’s Ilvermorny have adopted it as their Wizarding school instead.
