I love how Nick’s protective of Renard, someone he KNOWS is capable of handling himself in a fight and someone he only barely trusts and doesn’t even consider a friend…but still he wants to stick around and protect him.

You want to know what he’s doing? Keeping the law. Nothing more and nothing less. Impartially, toward Wesen and humans alike. And it has very little to do with me.

Sean Renard

The idea of an 18-year-old Sean Renard trying to make a bargain with his estranged royal father to KEEP HIS OWN LIFE is kinda heartbreaking.

This fic so far is all Nick studying Renard and I LOVE IT.

I feel like I am Nick in this, ferreting out all these heartbreaking little details about Sean’s past from the things he doesn’t say.

How far do you trust Renard, Nick? With your life? What if his show of loyalty requires throwing Nick under the bus? Nadya did say she views Nick as a threat.

“We’ve been kidnapped by the Resistance.” NO SHIT RENARD. REALLY? I couldn’t tell, what with all the ambiguity inherent in waking up handcuffed in a deserted warehouse after being tasered in a parking garage.
