I am the only one who loves Nick and Trubel’s relationship and think Trubel could be Nick’s lost twin sister ?

fuckyeahnickburkhardt:

jujubiest and myself had this discussion a while back, and I think we came to the conclusion that the timelines just don’t match up for Trubel to be Nick’s younger sister, and since there is at least ten years between them, they can’t be twins.

However, we do love their brother/sister relationship, and look forward to it continuing!

Hey there! Admin Liz here, putting in her two cents.

I LOVE Trubel and her relationship with Nick – they definitely have a sibling/mentor thing going on and I feel like Trubel really needed someone she could rely on (even though Nick can be a bit… unpredictable?).

As far as them being actual siblings go, there are a lot of fan theories out there talking about Trubel’s background. I’m assuming Nick is in his 30s and Trubel is in her 20s, so in all honesty while they could be siblings, I agree that it’s highly unlikely, though I don’t think it’s completely farfetched that they are somehow related. I’d assume that there is some sort of familial bloodline that runs through all Grimms, since the powers can’t possibly be that random.

We have yet to learn exactly how Grimm powers work. Obviously they run in families, but both parents don’t have to be Grimms to have a child with the powers (as demonstrated by Nick’s parents). Hopefully in the coming seasons they’ll explore this more. Personally, I was hoping they would go into this a bit when Nick lost his powers, but I think that is something we would have to learn about from someone who has been raised in a proper Grimm household, unlike Nick and Trubel who learned about their family legacy later in life, when there was no one there to really explain it. I’d be interested to find out if it’s sort of like a Rowling Wizarding World thing where there are pure blood, half blood, and muggle born (for lack of a better term) Grimms.

With the show going into its fifth season, hopefully we’ll start getting some more information on the actual mythology of the world they’re building, as well as some further background information on our beloved Trubel!

I was thinking earlier that Trubel seems more like how she was when she first appeared, clearly, deeply in pain, not full of hope and on the mend like how she left. Also, something clearly happened to Josh by her evasiveness, I wonder if he’s dead?

I wonder the same. Although I like your other theory (I think it was your theory?) better: that Chavez’s people have him and are using him as leverage to get Trubel to do what they want. I mean…I honestly can’t think of a single other reason Trubel would work with these people, especially in secret and (presumably) against Nick and Co. Short of brainwashing or a hostage situation, that is.

Discussion Time! Truhardt/Trubelhardt

I kind of wanted Nick and Truble to have a Grimm thing……*hides face*

Hey, you’re not alone! I see people on my dash all the time who see Nick and Trubel as potentially romantic. I personally see them as more familial–either a father/daughter or big brother/little sister dynamic.

A huge part of that for me is the age difference and the potential power imbalance. To me it’s just a bit weird having a 21-year-old girl who’s spent most of her life alone and traumatized begin a romantic or sexual relationship with a man who’s over a decade her senior and who more or less rescued her from trauma, took her in off the street, and became a mentor to her. There’s just too much room there for an abuse of power for me to see it as a romantic ship.

But again…there are lots of people who feel differently than me on this point! For instance, some might point out that Trubel has also saved and taken care of Nick when his powers were suppressed by Adalind’s spell, so they’ve really rescued each other.

But, eh…the age difference still squicks me. Fandom? What say you? Any other Nick/Trubel fans out there? Or no? Why or why not? Do you see a power imbalance there that could be problematic in a romantic or sexual relationship? Or perhaps you headcanon Trubel as attracted to women/asexual/aromantic?

This just freaking hurt so much and hoping she’s still alive cause Juliette’s been my fave since season 1. I just can’t see Trubel being able to do that so easily no matter what considering their relationship. But yeah, I might check in though it won’t be the same if Juliette is really gone. But if they made Nick/Adalind a couple just no, I would be so done. The message that would be sending would be disgusting.

Agreed…I think something is going on with Trubel that we don’t know about yet. There were hints all through “Cry Havoc” but there was so much else going on that I don’t think anyone, including us, had time to really process it all.

And agreed on Nick/Adalind. I would not be on board with that becoming canon at all.

I’m not suprised trubel shot Jullette cause she’s always been a a shoot first and ask questions later kind of girl. That’s what happens when you are forced to kill just to survive like she was before she met nick. Oh and that doesn’t mean she made the right choice this time.

I’m not particularly happy with that scene for many reasons, not least of which the notion of Trubel unhesitatingly firing two arrows into a woman who took her into her home, supported her, fed her massive amounts of bacon, and who Trubel very clearly adored and got attached to before she left.

There are a couple of hints in the finale that something has happened with Trubel since she was last in Portland. She’s apparently working with Special Agent Chavez, for one thing…and keeping secrets from the rest of the team about it.

For another, she seems to be way too comfortable and cavalier now about killing people…the weirdly casual way she was about the head. As pragmatic as Trubel used to be about violence, she was also deeply fearful of and traumatized by it before meeting Nick and Co. And afterwards, she was violent when necessary but never quite so…eager or casual about it?

I dunno, I just think something pretty bad is up with Trubel that contributed to her being perfectly willing to take a kill shot at a woman who treated her like family. It’s just that the hints got lost in all the other mess that was going on in that finale.

Clever Girls and Mental Scarring

Hey there! I’m that anon who bet 5 internet cookies that Kelly was gonna bite it. I am currently sobbing as I eat them. But anyway!

Can we take a moment to discuss that skull the king saw in the copter window? I assumed Diana was making an illusion because the king seemed way too shocked for it to be a woge of some kind. If so, Diana knew the king was going to die. Do you think she knew the rebels were coming to get her? The only one who should have known where she was, was Momma Grimm, so did she pass on the news that she was heading to see Nick to the Resistance? Kelly’s always been a careful one, what with leaving her son for the majority of his life, so it makes sense that she had a backup plan.

Perhaps Kelly was trying to hit two birds with one stone by helping her son and help the Resistance at the same time?

Also: Oh GOD, Juliette and Trubel!

Poor Trubel! They’d gotten so close and now the first thing she has to do when getting back to the  couple who gave her a brand new start is kill one of them! Are the writers just trying to see how many characters they can scar in one finale?!
