@fuckyeahnickburkhardt, idk if you remember, but you had an anon asking if Sean’s woge changed over time (like, months ago). So, I used my third rewatch to take a screenshot (almost) every time he woges.
The first time we see him woge is in 2×2 and it looks like this:
Please note, THIS IS A MIRROR IMAGE.
In season 2 we get more woges (is that even the right word) in 2×8 and two times in 2×13 – all in super dark lighting, so you just have to believe me when I say that the only changes are because of his healing injuries.
Then we have 2×20 where it was actually possible to take a decent screenshot.
We can’t see much of a change here either, so just have a look at the other side of his face.
I couldn’t really get good screenshots in 3×1, 3×2, 3×18, 3×19.
This one is from 3×21. I think the part on the right side got a little bigger compared to 2×20? It definitely goes down to his jaw now, but idk how much is just because shitty quality.
In 4×5 we get a good look at the part around his eye, but as far as i can tell it’s pretty much like before.
4×10 and 4×16 were, once again, pretty much impossible to screenshot with my non-existent skill.
In 5×6 we get this:
The part around his eye is weaker, but that’s because of the moment I took the screenshot. What definitely changed is the part on the right, there’s this very prominent… line thing-y now, that didn’t really exist at the beginning. (at least, it was not that prominent)
Here’s a pic from 5×12:
As I said, the eye-part didn’t really get weaker. BUT he’s apparently able to keep the left eye open now. It’s also a little open in 2×20, but not like this. (going through the screenshots before, this is the first time the left eye is open this wide. It looks again like this in 5×21, but the quality is awful)
Here’s a pic from 6×1:
and I’m not even sure what is different about this one, but something is. I think it’s the colour? (at least partly, may be because of the lighting)
In 6×3 both Sean and Nick woge (you know, verfluchte Zwillingsschwester and stuff) but I couldn’t get a decent picture.
The last time we see Sean woge is in 6×5.
And I think when you compare this to the first image(s), there is quite a bit of a difference. On one hand, it’s a lot greyer, less colourful. (Yes I know that basically applies to everything in the later seasons) On the other hand, there’s definitely some difference around his eye, it looks less like someone burnt off the skin and more like it’s somewhat dried? Like, almost mummified? Also, on the right we have this one “cut” again. And something else changed about that i think, but I can’t really figure it out.
So, in conclusion, I think his woge changed somewhat over the seasons but not to a degree where I would actually say “you fucked up there, friends”.
THE END
(okay, I lied about it being short. If I fucked up the grammar somewhere, tell me. If you notice something i didn’t do add it. And if you want to see the rest of the crappy screenshots, they’re all still on my laptop.
@jujubiest, I hope you don’t mind me tagging you specifically, but I know you’re part of fynb)
No I don’t mind at all, this is fantastic! Queueing it up for FYNB right now. Amazing. Thank you for doing this!
I don’t have one. I’m sure the gifs are out there, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that compiled all his woges. Would be interesting to see how much they differ side-by-side like that, though!
If you decide to make one, Nonny, please tag us! We’d love to see/ooh-ahh over/reblog it!
Honestly…I’ve never noticed it. Like I’ve seen it mentioned a few times by different people and my reaction is always just that: “huh. I never noticed.”
It might have something to do with the woge itself, tbh. I can look at images of Rosalee all day and pick out all the tiny things I’ve always found so pretty about her woge. But Sean’s? I’ve honestly tried not to look too closely at it, because:
Being a hexenbiest fundamentally alters the mind and emotions of the person. Adalind is literally TERRIFIED of having those powers back
If this is true – can the writers try not to have the other characters constantly bash Juliette every episode? It makes it so hard to swallow as realistic given Juliette went bad over 2 episodes and then the writers made it so she can’t ever be redeemed. It feels imbalanced in the writing of Juliette vs Adalind. I know a lot of folks hated Juliette but she was fundamentally a good person at heart. So if Adalind gets the “she was only bad because HB”, then it’d be nice if the show acknowledged that with Juliette. But I guess they cannot do that because Adalind is the reason why this happened to Juliette and they are trying to make Adalind the good one now.
I hate Saint/sinner writing. 😦
Yes, this. This is all I want. If they’re going to redeem Adalind based on the notion that she wasn’t herself or wasn’t in control when she did all the terrible things she’s done, they need to stop throwing Juliette under the bus, too.
They’ve been hinting at this for a awhile I can’t help but think – what about Sean Renard? He’s a zauberbiest, which is the same thing except gendery. Renard isn’t all evil and murdery and he has his powers.
Only Renard has pointed out several times they are not the same thing, like when Juliette went to him for help after she changed.
Actually, Renard has been pretty murdery in the past. He killed people in season one, including his own cousin. He facilitated human trafficking for that horrible fighting ring until they stepped outside his rules for who they kidnapped.
He was also the mastermind behind a lot of Adalind’s early actions, including the attacks on Aunt Marie and Hank.
It was only after he underwent that purification spell to save Juliette that he started to become nicer and less shady (which he only did because she tied Nick to Portland and he wanted Nick where he could keep an eye on him and have a chance to get at the key he had).
